Basic Directions for Blogging
You are welcome to use this website for blogging whilst enrolled in this course. This gives you a closed environment in which to experiment. I like Weebly Pro because I can own five websites and customize each one for its users.
There are tutorials that will help you edit your page. You are welcome to change the header for your page, but make sure you save it to your page only (drop down box will appear to prompt you.
This whole webpage system is drag and drop, so think about how you can manipulate your page. Warning! Please do not use Scribd when uploading files or documents! Scribd is blocked by many school systems because some people upload media that is not "G" rated. It's just another example of forbidding teachers access to a resource because some in the general public do not exercise good taste, character befitting an educator/thoughtful human being, and are just downright inappropriate. My school system gives teachers a "time out" for clicking on a Scribd file.
I love Weebly's polished look and simple steps to create a virtual product that is pleasing to the eye and functional. My students and their parents love the weebly pages they have access to. Starting in November, parents are expecting me to post a weekly blog about facilitating middle level success at school and at home. We'll see how that goes!
If you have any questions or want to know how to get your own Weebly page going, just email me. School email: [email protected] or use the UVA email address: ljp5r anytime. I'll try to respond pronto!
